Nadine Jones

I live on the Island of Haida Gwaii off the coast of BC, in the Community of Skidegate. My mother was born to Dorothy and Eugene Dutton of Kitwanga BC, from the matriarchal line of Ada Fowler from the black fish and fire-weed clan of the Gitxsan people. My Father was born to Anne and John Savinkoff first generation Canadians. I now walk my path on this earth with my parents and grandparents as well as many Aunties and Uncles watching over me and helping guide me.
I am a Strong, Proud and Powerful Woman, Wife of 20 years, Mother of two children, and Auntie of 10 wonderful nieces and nephews. I tell you this because I believe our individual and family history helps shape us, as it is not nature vs nurture but rather a combination of both.
Through my work with community members I hope to see wellness grow, self wisdom blossom and importance placed on Self development, Self Transformation, Self Realization & Self Actualization. I look forward to supporting personal transformation that will ripple out and create healthier individuals, families and community. First Nations believe it will take seven generation to fix the damage that has been done to the past generations.
In my spare time I enjoy beading, quilting, painting, yoga, running, gathering and camping with my family. Life on the West Coast is wonderful with many opportunities to enjoy the land and sea, Kayaking on the ocean or hiking in the rain forest to an afternoons walk on the beach. I am always learning and seeking knowledge to increase my overall wellness, modeling for my children so that they will always have a sense of belonging and connection to spirit.
Let me help you find the motivation you need. Love and Light.

Finding Connection
Through Nadine's recovery from addictions she has learned that connection to one’s self and others is a basic need that is often neglected. This basic need for connection and belonging for her is a core issue faced by many in her community, the more we disconnect from each other the unhealthier we become as a community. Belonging brings us a deep sense of role and responsibility, when we feel belonging and respect for ourselves, others, and the earth we live on, life becomes easier.
As Chief Skidegate, Lewis Collinson said in his speech from March 1966
“Just as one tree standing alone would soon be destroyed by the first strong wind which came along so is it impossible or any person, any family, or any community to stand alone against the troubles of this world”
Nadine believes each and every one has the wisdom and experience within them to define their own best version of themselves, everyone needs support, encouragement and kindness to succeed. She hopes to stand beside you on this journey.
